I am an avid coffee hater, and personally, I think that’s OK. In today’s society, everyone almost shuns you if you don’t have the same love for coffee. What those people need to know is that it’s OK to not like coffee, like any other beverage. I’m here to tell those people it’s OK to have different interests and to tell those who don’t like coffee, that you are not alone in the dislike for it.
When I was little my mom would let me drink a half of a cup of coffee every so often. When I was a young girl I couldn’t get enough of the caffeinated beverage. I mean I’m not exactly sure if it was caffeinated or not, but I do know that I loved the wonderful drink. I would sometimes put ice in it, because more times than not my mom would make it very hot. Plus, as a kid, I loved putting ice in everything. Now throughout the years clearly something changed that shifted my opinion on this loved beverage.
As I got older I would cringe at the taste of coffee, in any form. If it were a mocha, latte, iced coffee, and no matter how much cream and sugar I put in regular black coffee, I hated it. To this day I couldn’t tell you what happened and why my opinions changed, but I’m glad they did. Kids joke about being sleep deprived and addicted to coffee, but not me. I think there is a part of those people who genuinely like the taste of the coffee, but I also think there are people who drink it because they need to get work done and it helps them stay awake more, which is such a bad thing to do. Instead, people need to learn how to manage their time better, and plan time out of their day, instead of night to do their assignments.
Now to those who don’t like coffee, just know you’re not the only one out there and it’s OK to have an unpopular opinion on this beloved drink. On the rare occasion that I go to Starbucks I get a tea or cake pop. I mean they wouldn’t sell those products if they thought everyone in the world was coffee drinkers. Plus, there are many healthier caffeinated options if that’s what you’re drinking coffee for. Coffee may be a loved drink by many, but that doesn’t mean you have to love it.
