5 Things That I Absolutely Cannot Stand About The Airport

It's a terrible place.

I really never minded the airport. To be honest, I kind of liked it. But living in New Jersey and going to school in Miami means that I travel a lot, which means I spend a lot of time at the airport. And I've decided that the more time you spend in the airport, the more you start to dread it. So, here are the things I hate the most about the airport.

1. The people

I don't know what it is about airports, but they bring out the worst side of everyone. I cannot tell you how many times I've been yelled at by a security employee because I accidentally left a water in my bag. Then of course I get yelled at by the guy behind me for making him wait 30 seconds while I take the water out.

2. The lines

Whether it's the line for security, the line to board the plane, or even the line for Starbucks, at the airport it's just too long.

3. The timing

If I successfully make it to the airport two hours before my flight (like they suggest), chances are I'm going to be waiting at the gate for over an hour, just for them to tell me the flight's delayed.

4. When girls actually look good

I'm always my ugliest at the airport. So when I see someone in heels (or anyone who actually looks like a put together human), I don't love it.

5. The walking

No really I love when my gate is C109 and security is conveniently located near C1.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
