Like any other Harry Potter lover, I was dying for the new book to come out (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child for you muggles). It is the first book released about what happens after the Second Wizard War and what happens to Harry Potter’s children when they reach Hogwarts age.
Released on July 31st, the birthday of the world famous wizard Harry Potter and his creator JK Rowling. I found myself at the midnight release accompanied by my mother, her friend and her friend’s daughter. To say the Barnes and Nobles employs went all out is an understatement.
In the four hours leading up to the book release, we hunted for horcruxes, made our own howlers (If you step one more toe out of line!), had our futures read, went to a potions class with Professor Snape, freed an elf, created a wand, took out OWLS and NEWTS (some did better than others) as well as got sorted into our respective houses. We also got to enjoy butter beer and Passion Potion from the coffee shop all while being in a bookstore. It was somewhat my dream come true.
After four hours of excitement and Harry Potter greatness, there was the magical countdown to the release. I was happily 35th in line (the power of pre order) while my mother and the others were about 78th. Getting my book, my immediate reaction was the begin reading, however I was figured I needed to move away from the cash register.
Reading the book was great as my friend can attest to my snapchats about it. I got home changed into comfy pajamas, made myself a fresh cup of coffee before settling into my favorite reading spot. Then the magic began. I read the whole book that night totally engrossed in the wondrous world that JK Rowling created for us. The book was written as a play script but no less captivating than any of the other Harry Potter books. I highly recommend anyone to read it and enjoy the new characters and surprising plot twists it brings.
