To the ones who get to be with their significant other,

Enjoy your time together! Don't take your significant other for granted. Treat them extra right today. Take them to that movie they've been dying to see. Do they like flowers? Buy them flowers. Buy them seeds to be able to grow their own, cultivated out of love, all year long. Use it as an opportunity to give your fit girl or fit guy the best cheat day of the year. Take them to the beach (if it's warm where you are). Snuggle up and Netflix and Chill (in the literal and figurative sense). Appreciate everything about them.

To the ones who don't get to spend it with their significant other,

Hold tight to the love you know they have for you. Whatever the reason you won't get to be with them, I promise that not being together on Valentine's Day is not the end of the world, and you'll likely have many more Valentine's Days with them, if the circumstances are right.

To my single friends this year,

Don't fret over a holiday. Buy yourself expensive chocolate, a bottle of wine, and have yourself a nice bath with a Lush bath bomb and rose petals. Or, buy yourself discount chocolates the next day, a 12-pack of Ale-8, and take a nice, long, self-care shower. Go see that movie you always wanted to see.

To the divorcee,

It's gonna break your heart to celebrate alone. Or you'll be celebrating with cheer. You'll either feel pain, or you'll be jumping for joy. Whatever it is you're feeling on Valentine's Day, make the best of it. It'll be OK.

To the recently broken up with,

It's gonna hurt. Nurse yourself back to health, so to speak. Treat yourself right. Do all the things you couldn't do when you were with your ex. Drink a bottle of wine by yourself, soak in a nice bath, do what it takes to take care of yourself.

To my friends who lost their significant others,

It's OK if you feel too hurt to try and celebrate. It's OK to hate Valentine's Day. No one will judge you for drinking a little too much wine.

To everyone this year,

Happy Valentine's Day. Celebrate among close friends. I'll be celebrating with my fiance.

All the best.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
