Happy NYC Bridal Fashion Week!
Oh how lovely, white dresses, delicate lace, light flowers, and that small touch of rustic elegance are all sites to see at New York's Spring Bridal Week.
The Bridal Industry has been booming ever since weddings, and wedding planning got huge in the past couple of decades. It got even bigger with TLC shows like, "Say Yes To the Dress," "4 Weddings," or "David Tutera's My Fair Wedding." And the truth is, I hope its an industry that keeps on growing.
But there's a few things that I think need changing, like the wedding dress models. Much like the high fashion models, wedding gown models are very tall, and very skinny, and do not look like the average bride. And if a girl was spending three grand and up on a dress, we need a model that resembles the brides of today's time.
Another thing, we need more diverse industry jobs. Of course there's wedding dress consulting, wedding planning, catering and floral, but where are the jobs in the industry that has a more different approach to weddings?
But bridal industry, I love you because you keep encouraging girls to dream, designers to design, and TLC to thrive. So thank you.
