Dear Mom,
First of all, I want to say Happy Mother's Day! Secondly, I want to say thank you for being the wonderful mother that you are. You have always been there for me even when you aren't actually with me. I know that when I call you, you will help me out with whatever it is I need from you. You let me rant to you and you take it just to help me feel better and work through whatever my rant is about. This is the first mother’s day I haven’t been with you, and while I know I need to focus on my finals and enjoy my college life there is nothing I want more than to spend your special day with you.
Since the day I learned to speak I called you mom but even before I was a born into this world you were my mother. You carried me for nine months and then gave birth to your little girl. While I may not be a little girl anymore that doesn't change the fact that I'm forever your daughter, and that you will forever view me as your little girl. Not a day goes by mom, that I don’t miss you and just want to be home with you. While I'll admit there are times where I just want you to leave me alone and do my own thing, deep down I love the fact that you care enough to not leave me alone and just remind me that you care. You really take the time to show just how much I mean to you.
Being off in college this past year I have come to realize how much of an influence you were in my life. You helped shape the person I am today. I realized that the saying "I am my mother's daughter" is true. I am very much like you, mom and I look to you to become a better person in life every day. You are the ultimate role model. While I have people that I look to be like in a career, you are the ultimate person that I look to be like in life.
I know that when the day comes for me to be married you will be by my side the whole way. You won't ever stop being there for me. I can only pray that when I have my first daughter I can be just as great as a mother as you have been and will always be to me. I can continue this letter and keep telling you how much you mean to me. I can keep telling you things you already know, but all together it comes down to one thing you are always going to be my mother and I will always love you!
You have encouraged me to do what makes me happy in life. You have and always will be in my corner when it comes to the different obstacles in my path. I hate the fact that I’m not with you on Mother’s Day, I wish I was. I would love to just spend the day with you and have a Mother, Daughter outing. Even though, I am still away at college on Mother’s Day, you are my mother and I love you.
Love,
Your Daughter
