You Can Bet "Happiness Begins" With The New Jonas Brothers Album

I've been waiting for this album for ten years.

I've been listening to this album on repeat for a couple of weeks now and I can say with complete honesty that, while not all of the songs are necessarily in my usual tastes, I love every song. Am I a bit biased because they're from my favorite childhood band?

Yes. Yes, I am.

I know I write about music more than the average person, but it's because music is truly something that brings me great joy and makes me genuinely feel whatever the artist wanted, whether it is sadness or overwhelming joy. And this album did not disappoint in showcasing their diversity. So, song by song, here is the culmination of years of waiting for a Jonas Brothers reunion.

1. 'Sucker'

The day this song came out, I was actually laying in bed getting ready to go to sleep when a notification popped up on my screen announcing the newest Jonas Brothers music video. I was horizontally flailing before I even pulled up the video and sending the link to my brother and sister before I even listened, I was so excited. I fell asleep filled with joy, and when I woke up I listened to it on repeat while I got ready for the day. It was literally a dream come true.

2. 'Cool'

This video was just as ridiculous as the last, and their new music style and lyrics so different from anything I had ever heard from them before. They've grown so much since their Disney days.

3. 'Only Human'

We are only human, and this song is definitely one of my favorites on the album. I love the almost reggae-vibe of it and every time I hear it, even if I'm sitting down, I'm dancing along.

4. 'I Believe'

This song is Nick's love song to his wife Priyanka Chopra and there's love in every word.

5. 'Used To Be'

As my sister said, there's a Post Malone vibe going in this song. All I've got for it is praise.

6. 'Every Single Time'

Every single time I hear this song I fall in love all over again.

7. 'Don't Throw It Away'

I didn't throw away the old CDs (they're definitely somewhere in my bedroom back home).

8. 'Love Her'

If I HAD to choose a least favorite song from the album, I guess this would be it. I still love it though.

9. 'Happy When I'm Sad'

We all know that feeling of pretending to be happy when we're not, and the brothers put an upbeat spin to the emotional turmoil of it.

10. 'Trust'

I don't trust myself not to buy tickets for the upcoming tour the moment they go on sale (spoiler alert: I did).

11. 'Strangers'

What can I say but it's beautiful and I love it.

12. 'Hesitate'

Hands down, this is my favorite song on the album, and it is in my top three all-time favorite songs of theirs. It's Joe's love letter to Sophie Turner and it's so raw and powerful, the first time I heard it, I cried. Not only can you hear Kevin in this one (Kevin's my favorite brother), there's just something to it that makes my heart skip. The love is audible.

13. 'Rollercoaster'

It's been a hell of a ride these past few months, having the anticipation build until it boiled over.

14. 'Comeback'

The three-part harmony in this one is incredible.

15. 'First'

So I just heard this ten minutes ago, not realizing it even existed. Madness.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
