8 Truths That Make Halloween The Best Holiday, You Can't Change My Mind

October is here and that means several things: Fall is setting in, the weather is cooling down, and Halloween is almost here! I know some people love Thanksgiving and others go nuts for Christmas (not that both of those holidays aren't great), but Halloween is the best holiday and I'm here to tell you why.

1. The decorations are awesome

Fall, in general, has great decorations, but all the jack-o-lanterns, skeletons, cobwebs and more give off that spooky, exciting vibe.

2. You don't have to buy gifts

Unlike Christmas, you don't have to spend a huge amount of time looking for gifts for all your friends and family at Halloween. Does everyone get lots of candy, who can complain about that?

3. Candy. Is. Everywhere.

Instead of buying a bunch of expensive gifts, you just have to buy one big, relatively cheap bag of candy to hand out to tons of trick-or-treaters...and you can snag some too.

4. You don't have to deal with distant relatives

A family is wonderful and I love seeing mine, but we all have those distant relatives that only show up at Thanksgiving and/or Christmas that we don't really know what to do with.

They kind of act like they know us and our kind of act as we know them, but it's really just an awkward experience for everyone.

With Halloween, you don't have to endure those awkward family encounters.

5. Halloween movies for a month

For the whole month of October leading up to Halloween, plenty of channels show a bunch of Halloween movies just for you to the marathon.

Stores also put out all the classics. You can reminisce with ones you watched as a kid like "Hocus Pocus" and "Halloweentown" or some more chilling ones like "It."

No matter what you're watching there's almost never a better way to get into the Halloween spirit.

6. Seeing kids in cute costumes

One of the best things about handing out candy on Halloween is seeing all the adorable kids dressed up. Whether they're dressed as a retro movie character like Elliot from E.T. or a superhero seeing the kids so excited to play pretend and get candy for it.

7. Haunted houses

Getting scared is what Halloween is all about and there's no better way to do that than in a classic haunted house, hayride or maze.

They are so much fun to do with friend or family — you can get scared, have all that adrenaline pumping through you, then have a good laugh about it afterward.

8. You get to dress up

This is probably the best part of Halloween.

You get to pick one of your favorite characters, a creepy ghoul, or whatever your heart desires then get together with a group of friends, eat a ton of candy and junk food, and have a great time.

Stay spooky!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.
