Halloween is the one time of the year where you get to wear crazy, funny, sometimes questionable, costumes and not completely stand out. Here at my university, we go all out for Halloween, in fact, it's famously known as "Hallow-weekend," the weekend closest to Halloween day. It's a weekend full of parties, spooky fun, and of course costumes. But let's be real, we're college students here, and may I add, broke college students on a budget.

So to all my broke college friends out there, here are 7 cheap, chic costumes you can afford on that low college student budget.

1. Frat Boy

The classic frat boy costume never fails. Wear your most preppy clothes or ask some of your guy friends who are in frats to borrow some of theirs. It's cheap. Easy. And, hey, you might even win over a frat boy because as the common saying goes, the best form of flattery is imitation!

2. Devil/ Angel

Not only is this a classic, easy costume, but a great duo one too! All you need is lots of red and lots of white, which I guarantee you'll have to spend $0 on. With that being said, the only money you have to put forth is for the horns, halo, and wings. Shouldn't have to spend more than $15, if even that!

3. Alien

OK, this costume has seriously been popular lately and it's super easy to do! Also, very affordable. Basically, all you need is super metallic textured clothing, some glitter, and the ability to do the alien "wave" for all your cute pics, and you're good to go!

4. Lifeguard

All you need is some white shorts, white tank top, red jacket (if you don't have these things, go to your local Walmart!!) and a whistle which you could probably get at dollar tree. If you want to go all out, spend that extra dollar for some paint and paint the stereotypical lifeguard logo onto that white tank top, your outfit is complete!

5. Fruit

Never in a million years, did I think this costume would be a hit, but it is! In fact, people even collaborate and cover almost the entire food group. All you need is an oversized t-shirt that is the color of your fruit, spandex or leggings, some paint to paint on the texture of the fruit to your shirt, and finally some green heavy duty construction paper of felt to create the stem or leaves part of your fruit (if applicable). Last year, I was a watermelon and it was so easy and I got so many compliments!

6. Solo Cup

Alright, if you're a college student, what better college Halloween costume is this. It's easy as can be and I promise you'll be the hit of the party! All you need is an oversized red t-shirt, white paint to vertically paint the word "SOLO" onto your shirt, to make it clear, red high socks, white vans, spandex to go under your shirt and of course a necklace of ping pong balls. The perfect, college costume that can all be made from supplies from Walmart.

7. The "Athlete"

Easiest costume, we see year after year, especially from guys. You wear a jersey, basketball shorts, sneakers, and maybe even a hat backward and you're good to go!

With these 7 easy costume ideas, you don't have to break your bank to look great!

Wishing you a cheap, chic, spooky Halloween!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
