10 Predictable Holiday Hallmark Movies To Watch That Will Make You Feel Better About Being Single
Elaine Fisher

Everyone loves holiday movies. When Hallmark starts airing their holiday movies it officially marks the start of the holiday season. It is the season for love and romance. It is the time of year that everyone wants to see those happy endings. During holiday times, no wants to watch a sad movie or story. We want to see people fall in love and we watch to have that warm happy feeling on the inside.

When you are single, you want to see a romantic movie where people fall in love. It helps to show you that anything is possible and that can happen for you too. Hallmark knows that and understands how to portray that holiday feeling. The only problem with that is some movies become predictable. When movies become predictable, they can sometimes miss the mark.

Here are 10 movies that happen to miss the mark.

1. "Finding Santa"

Finding Santa premiered on Hallmark Channel last year. Throughout the movie, it was obvious of what the outcome was going to be. Ben who was reluctant to fill the role of Santa for his dad at the town's festival would end up changing his mind, and that he and Grace would end up falling in love with each other. The movie itself had such a cheesy and predictable fill to it that watching it can get boring very quickly.

2. "It's Christmas, Eve"

It's Christmas, Eve is a new movie that premiered a little over a month ago. I had high hopes for this movie because it starred my favorite singer LeAnn Rimes. The movie, unfortunately, fell short. It had a slow start to the movie, which makes it hard to regain the audience through the duration of the movie. The storyline had some flaws and false facts about Eve's (Rimes) job description. The music in the music in the movie and her voice did not disappoint.

3. "Christmas in Love"

Another movie about a CEO who is in town to lay off people from a local business that it seems everyone in their family has worked for. Nick came in town to lay off people from the bakery that his company owns. During his time in town, he met Ellie and fell in love with her and decided to change his plans. Which is not how business works in the real world. People don't often change their minds because they fell in love with people. Throughout the whole movie, Ellie and Nick were kind of annoying about how they dealt with things.

4. "The Mistletoe Inn"

The "Mistletoe Inn" is one of those movies that you watch when there is nothing else on TV. It is one of those movies where the leading woman is annoying, rude, and stuck up for no reason at all to the guy. The first time they met he bumps into her and she is rude for no reason at all. But of course, they end up together in the end anyway.

5. "A Christmas Detour"

A Christmas Detour is about two people who get stuck in an airport together because of the snow. They decide to rent a car and start driving to their destination with another couple who is married. That married couple is very bitter and mad with each. Of course, it is a movie where the leading lady is in a relationship with a jerk and she is on her way to his parents for the holidays. Through the journey together they start to fall in love and she ends up leaving her jerk of a boyfriend for the guy she met at the airport.

6. "A Wish For Christmas"

This movie stars one of my favorite Hallmark actresses Lacey Chabert, but the movie felt so cheesy and goofy. It is about a girl who is a pushover and makes a Christmas wish to be bolder in her personality. She goes on a business trip with her boss over the holiday and he finds her boldness to be refreshing and confident. Along the way she the wish starts to wear off and she finds her confidence. In the end, because of her boldness, the make the business deal and fall in love with each other.

7. "Christmas at Holly Lodge"

If you are singleChabertChabert do not feel bad because this annoying couple will make you glad that you are. Christmas at Holly Lodge is about a guy who's company wants to buy the lodge that has been in Sophie's family forever. She is finding every reason she can to keep him from buying her lodge. Along the way, he falls in love with her and the people that work there and now is trying to find a way for her to keep it. Of course, as you know they end up together in the end.

8. "Christmas Next Door"

Christmas Next Door is about a book author named Eric who hates Christmas. His new next-door neighbors love Christmas and try to convince him to put decorations up around his house. He, to in the beginning, but as he gets to know his neighbor April and his niece and nephew come to stay with him, he starts to soften his heart. His niece and nephew do not like his current girlfriend and she does not like them, but they instantly fall in love with his neighbor because they spend so much time with her. Because of that April and Eric end up together in the end.

9. "Enchanted Christmas"

Enchanted Christmas stars a husband and wife duo, who play characters who grew up together and dated but went separate ways in life. Unfortunately, when they return back home they cannot get passed what happened in the past and they spend their time disagreeing. As they start to learn how much they have changed, they start to fall in love with each other.

10. "Marry Me at Christmas"

Marry Me at Christmas is about a woman who owns a bridal boutique who is working with the bride's brother on the wedding. The bride's brother is a movie star and someone who she has a crush. They quickly start to clash with their ideas and start to disagree with each other. The disagreements stem from the fact that they both have started to develop feelings for one another.

These movies make you glad to be single because they are annoyingly predictable. The couples in these movies are either annoying about how they handle the relationship or they are stuck up and rude about the relationship. No one wants to be in a relationship where someone is annoying or rude to you for no reason at all. The couples in these also have pity ways of handling situations that come up between them and that is no way to handle a relationship.

Also, the movies and stories themselves are very cheesy and goofy. When you are in an adult relationship, you do not want to be cheesy and goofy all the time. Some of the movies are cute, but after I watched them I am very glad that I am single.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time.
