I have missed so much in my life by being quarantined; however, I know it has been for the best.

I miss the routine, the structure. I miss walking to class and seeing the faces of people I do not know. I miss the socialization. I miss going out with friends and being around people, making memories, especially in the college scene. But it has also brought closer bonds to family members and being welcomed back into my community arms from a distance of course.

Friendships have healed and new movements have been made in order for us to survive this quarantine.

1. Making a list

This list is not just any list, it is a list that reminds you about how much you have to be grateful for. You make two columns, and you list on each side what you miss during this quarantine, and what you have today. It has really reminded me of everything I have to be grateful for, such as having my health and my job still.

2. Running

I am a huge hater of running, I am the worst at cardio and am more of a lifter. But during this quarantine, I have learned to appreciate running outdoors and enjoying nature while at it.

3. Decluttering

I have decluttered so much of my room at home, and it has made me able to breathe in a way. I have enjoyed organizing my life and it has even improved my mental health by doing so.

4. Water Goals

I have made it a habit of mine to try to drink a lot more water than I normally used too, and I have personally noticed a huge difference in my metabolism, my skin, and my energy levels!

5. Engaging with the word//Reading

I recently bought a bible study guide to feel more connected to my faith, especially with church being virtual. As well, I use to be a huge avid reader but with the world being hectic along with my daily life I haven't been as big as a book worm as I use to be.. but now with quarantine, I have been able to re-pick up my favorite books.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
