The holiday season is officially in full swing! Christmas trees are being decorated, gifts are being purchased, and festive music is being played. To ensure that you will have the best holiday season yet, here is my guide to navigating the holidays!
Decorate your house.
Put up a tree and decorate it with a couple of beautiful ornaments. Wrap a tree in front of your house in bright lights. Decorate the fireplace with a few gorgeous poinsettias. Whatever you choose to do, I promise that the decorations will make you feel happy and get you in the holiday spirit!
Take pictures.
What’s that old saying? Ah yes… a picture is worth a thousand words. Capture the memorable moments of you and your family with a couple photos. Do not be afraid to strike a pose in that ugly Christmas sweater. Take a bunch of goofy, candid photos. You will appreciate them ten years from now.
Bake.
Get a group of friends together and bake some delicious Christmas cookies or maybe even a cake! This is the perfect time to try out some of those mouth-watering Pinterest recipes. Not only will your house smell amazing, but you will also have some desserts on hand!
Listen to music.
Make a holiday playlist! Obviously, you can listen to some of the holiday classics, such as “All I want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey. You can also fill your playlist with any other songs that will get you in the holiday spirit; I would recommend country music!
Eat.
Everybody knows that food does not have calories over the holidays! So grab an extra slice of that apple pie and enjoy!
Give.
The holiday season is all about giving back. Whether it is volunteering in your community or donating items to a local food pantry, try to give back this holiday season.
Say "thank you."
Be thankful. I know thanksgiving is over now, but the holiday season is also about giving thanks. By giving gifts to your friends and family, you are reminding the people around you that they are loved and that you are thankful for everything they do for you.
Make a resolution.
I know New Year’s resolutions can be cheesy, but they are a nice way to start off the year by reminding yourself that you are going to accomplish amazing things. The key is to try and choose a resolution that you will work towards for more than just the first week of the New Year.
