I've always believed that the luckiest of people are graced with siblings, particularly with brothers. I am one of these lucky people, and I realize this every day. My older brother and I are really close. Born only 22 months apart, my brother Davis and I were inseparable growing up. Where one of us went, the other went as well. If one of us was going to play baseball, we were both going to play baseball. If one of us was watching a movie, then we were both watching a movie. We were together all of the time.

Over the last four months, my brother and I have both moved out of our childhood home, and I've realized just how lucky I am to have an older brother. While we may not see each other every day, I'm beyond grateful that I have him in my life, and here is why:

1. I always have someone to talk to.

When I'm having a bad day or just want to talk to someone who has known me forever, my brother is always there. Sure, I may have to wait until he is done with his classes for the day before I can call him, but when we finally get to call each other, we talk for hours. I can tell him my day was terrible, or I can talk about all of the funny things that happened to me. He will always listen.

2. He can always cheer me up.

My brother is one of the funniest people I know. He's always cracking jokes and throwing puns into our conversations in a way that makes anyone laugh, whether you want to or not.

3. I have a constant stream of memes and gifs.

If there is one thing that I know about my brother, it's that he can pull a gif or a meme out at the drop of a hat. Some call it ridiculous, but I call it a talent.

4. He always stands up for me.

My brother may be a jerk sometimes, but he always stands up for me. It may be in an offhanded way sometimes, but he always stands up for me.

5. I have someone to help me argue with my parents.

If siblings are good for anything, it's helping to argue with parents. Two heads are always better than one, you know.

6. I always have an ally.

Once again, this one revolves around parents. It doesn't matter whether they are blaming the dirty dishes on me or yelling at me because I forgot to put gas in my car, my brother always backs me up. It just isn't always effective.

7. I always have someone to do weird things with.

Whether we're playing "Dungeons and Dragons" or building snow forts in shorts and T-shirts as teenagers, I have always had someone to do it with me.

8. I get good pop culture recommendations.

My brother gives me the best recommendations. It could be for "Stranger Things" or a Metallica song that I haven't heard yet. No matter what, these recommendations are always awesome.

9. His friends are my friends.

I know all of his friends. Therefore, they are all my friends, too.

10. My brother is a great friend.

Even if we fight or disagree, my brother is a great friend. I can't imagine having anyone else to help me get through life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
