Growing up in a big family has so many crazy moments and endless laughter. You truly understand the concept of family when you have 20+ people (on both sides) to call your family, and a close family at that. To get people to fully understand what growing up in a big family is like, I'd like to bring in the cast of Modern Family-
When you find out the latest family gossip
because everyone loves hearing a few juicy details on what's new in the family and their friends.
When someone starts eating before you say Grace
But lets be real, we've all done it at least once, maybe twice, maybe about 50 times. But hey, I'm not judging.
When it's time to open presents at Christmas
There's always someone who brings the wacky gift during Dirty Santa.
When someone takes the last roll
That roll is all you think about during the course of your meal, and if you're like me, rolls and a couple other things are your meal (picky eaters unite) so when someone takes it, you just begin to scream inside: "THIS IS SPARTAAAAAA" and go in for the attack.
When everyone asks what your plans are after college
I can barely choose what Netflix show I will binge watch next or what flavor milkshake to get at cookout, so definitely know I can't plan a year + ahead of time. I love you anyway doe, fam.
When someone can't make it to a family holiday
We all know the pain when our favorite person doesn't show up, lets be real.
When you approve of the new significant other
The secret looks and behind the back approvals we give tell it all, but man, if we don't, you better go ahead and kick that Significant other out before we do it ourselves. Ain't nobody messing with my clique.
And every family always has that crazy relative
You probably thought of the relative I'm talking about right as you read that sentence, if you don't have one yet, just think harder. Still haven't got one? Don't forget about yourself.. ;)
When its time to leave everyone until next time
No one wants to leave their family, or the food, so we just cry instead.
Most of all, you know your family will always be there for you.
Growing up in a big family will always be one of my biggest and most important blessings, and I will never ever forget the impact it had on me becoming who I am today. Special thank you to my family, for always being there for me and laughing at my craziness and supporting every dream I've worked for. Family is forever, and that is how it will always be.
