I know the Grinch since childhood. I first watched it in first grade and then I watched it again during fourth grade. Later on, I see it on TV on ABC Family, which is now called Freeform. At first, I was not into the movie. I was not thrilled about it. I did not understand the movie that much when I was a child. Now as a grownup, I understand the movie. The jokes are very funny. I remember laughing mostly at the part where the Grinch's heart grows big and how he calls out to his dog Max after his heart has grown big. What made it fun was laughing together with my sisters whenever we watch it.
He is the best Byronic hero and funniest anti-hero of Christmas! The Grinch is a Byronic hero because when he was a kid, he got bullied on Christmas. As a result, he hates Christmas and isolates himself from the people of Whoville. Poor Grinch. No one can forget that they got bullied, especially on Christmas. Every year, when it is Christmas, the holiday triggers that memory. In other words, he is traumatized whenever it is Christmas time at Whoville. The way he views Christmas and treats all the other characters is like the qualities of an anti-hero. He also has a small heart. He shows no love toward Christmas and Whoville. He even does things that go against Whoville, especially when he steals Christmas. In the end, he gives it back to Whoville and that makes him a hero to Whoville.
If you have not seen this movie yet, then please try to do so this year. It is a very funny and unforgettable Christmas movie. If you have seen this movie before, then you will understand what I am saying.
