I finally got around to watching "Grey's Anatomy" and it hasn't quite been what I expected it to be. Here is what I thought Grey's was about, versus the reality of what it actually is. Let's just say, I was completely wrong.
1. I thought Christina was the boss.
Whenever I heard about Grey's, I heard about Christina, which made me think she was the boss at the hospital. I was shocked to find out she was only an intern.
2. I thought there would be less death.
Less death in a hospital? What was I thinking, right? But I had seen "House" and there were way less deaths in that show.
3. I didn't think Meredith would be the main character
For some reason I thought that Meredith would be a side character. I didn't see her in comments or GIFs nearly enough as Christina.
4. I thought interns did more.
I thought that medical interns would know more and assist more with the surgeries. I had no idea that their internship was seven years and that they wouldn't actually be viewed as "real" doctors yet.
5. I thought there would be more consequences if interns messed up.
It doesn't seem like these interns get any punishment for doing things they aren't supposed to, like preforming an autopsy that wasn't signed off for.
All in all, I'm ecstatic to be watching the show and unraveling what I thought I knew about the show from what the show actually is.
