Dr. Callie Torres started as a recurring character on Grey's in season two. She was a main character from season three through season twelve. Fun-loving, free-spirited orthopedic surgeon was the life of the party, and she also served as the intermediate comic relief when things got too heavy. But alas, all good things must come to an end I guess. At the end of season twelve, she left with her girlfriend Penny Blake and Sofia to go to New York to support Penny being transferred. Let's talk about Callie.
Sensitive
Callie Torres was deeply sensitive. Never afraid of displaying how she really feels, as well as being brutally honest with her patients and coworkers. She was the example of not caring what anyone thought of her, as she dealt with a lifetime of being made fun of and called a freak until medical school. Even after Arizona cheated on her and they were in couple's counseling. At first she wanted to try, but then she realized their relationship was "taking away" who she was as a person.
Bold
Like I said before, Callie was the life of the party! Everywhere she went she was determined to have a good time, besides being the longest running bisexual character in the history of television has its perks. Dating boys and girls also didn't matter to her. She liked what she liked and she was perfectly okay with that.
Caring
Callie cared immensely for her patients, going to court for one of them because she had no choice but to amputate both of his legs. She also made the call to amputate Arizona's leg after the plane crash, enduring the bitterness that came with Arizona not having a limb, and was still willing to help her through everything she needed.
Human
But best of all, Callie Torres proved to be human. Not being as surgery-hungry as Dr. Cristina Yang, she did have the talent and the heart to take every patient, surgery, and lover head on without fear of what would happen next. Whatever happened, happened. And that was alright.
