Your college major is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make. For the most part, it is everyone’s first impression of you. How much fun you had in college, or if you didn’t. It reflects your hobbies and dictates the success of your career.
Your college major follows you around for your whole life, so why not decide if you want to be a George O'Malley, or a Cristina Yang? Instead of dreading your major, like an inoperable tumor, look at it as your favorite Grey’s Anatomy Character. It’s a beautiful day to pick your college major. Let’s have some fun.
Cristina Yang: Journalism
Christina never does anything half-way. She is overcurious, dedicated, and she will do anything, or anyone, to get what she wants.
Izzie Stevens: Accounting
Numbers are totally Izzie's thing, even when it comes to calorie counting. Accounting isn't the sexiest major, even when you're Bethany Whisper, but it's practical.
Meredith Grey: Psychology
Mare is the go-to listener of her friend group. Even when her own life is falling apart, she loves to be the arbitrator.
Bokhee: Engineering
Bokhee is arguably the most underrated character on Grey's Anatomy, in 14 seasons she has only spoken a few times. Bokhee operates in her own bubble, much like engineering majors. Socializing is out of the question for her, as she spends most of her time studying.
Amelia Shepherd: Pre-Law
Amelia's best qualities include over-reacting and arguing. She takes everything way too personally, but we love her anyways.
George Omalley: Undeclared
George switched specialties almost as quickly as sexual partners. He was very passionate about different things and was killed off before he could decide. Thanks, Shonda.
Callie Torres: Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
Is everyone in your major gay? No. However, Callie is very passionate about feminism and LGBTQ rights. She is not afraid to call someone out, even her dad, when they're being homophobic.
Lexie Grey: History
Living up to Meredith Grey is stressful enough, but having a photographic memory helps. Lexie, or Lexipedia sees textbooks as light reading, and is able to memorize important dates and people on the spot.
Derek Shepherd: Environmental Science
The man willingly lives in a trailer in the middle of the woods. Enough said.
