10 Great Natural Hair YouTubers

I first went natural when I was about 13/14 years old and let me tell you, my mother was not exactly my biggest supporter. I love my mama, but she truly didn't know how to deal with my natural hair nor did like the idea of me going to school with 'unruly'. I remember going to my cosmetologist cousin every few weeks to give me twist outs, but I wanted to figure out how to do my hair on my own. It was my way of becoming an adult in a place where everyone treated me like a kid. So thus I embarked on my journey of learning to love my curly hair.

I thought it'd be awesome to show that I don't necessarily follow one natural hair guru. I love to learn from different naturals, depending on curl pattern, regimen, and lifestyle. Here are some of my favorite Naturals:

1. Jewellianna Palencia

Originally having waist length hair, then, unfortunately, having a mishap with a scissor-happy stylist, she's great for inspiration!

2. MoKnowsHair

Mo is a professional stylist and explains the science of your curls to help you get the best results whether you're transitioning, color-treated, damaged, or just looking for new ways to make your hair even better.

3. Naptural85

Ever since I've started watching her she's hair thick long 4c hair that is refreshing for a natural youtuber. She doesn't straighten her hair often nor does she use a lot of heat. She is one of my go-to users for advice and her daughter is the cutest!

4. SunKissAlba

Alba uses all things natural and I can really appreciate that when looking for new hair masks. I like coming to her when I'm looking for new products and just seeing what products are best when I'm looking to be cautious of the ingredients I'm using.

5. My Friend Jasmin (She's a smaller channel, but has great tips that work!!)

I've known Jasmin since 8th grade. I'd like to think we have similar curl patterns, so I love going to her for real advice. She's hilarious and honest, which is always great when looking for evective products. Go check her out!

6. Hair Mary

Not only do we both love Tupac, but I love her country accent. Just like Jasmin, I enjoy how funny she is, and I'd like to think we're hair twins. She's honest and her rants videos show depth within her channel. Definitely a go-to as well!

7. Mini Marley

Mini Marley is one of my favorite because she was the first person on youtube, that I found, who's hair was exactly like mine. Though my hair has grown longer than hers, and I dye it from time to time, I always go back to her channel because I know our hair grows the same. She's another one on this list who I will always trust when looking for products.

8. Natural Neiicey

Hailing from Canada, Neiicey has long hair with a looser curl pattern, that I like to watch to learn about twist outs. Her twist outs always seem to come out perfect to me and I like her straightening tutorials.

9. TheChicNatural

Unlike a lot of youtubers who section their hair and constantly use different products, TheChicNatural, uses a unique method of shampooing and conditioning without sectioning and braiding it immediately after. Even though on my own hair I think the method would be too rough, it has managed to work in her favor. Alongside her vegan diet and protective styles, she is a great one to watch for unique styles, wigs, and fashion advice.

10. Mahogany Curls

Just like Naptural85, MahoganyCurls has had thick long hair since I started watching her. Though I feel like most products work well on her hair, I do find something satisfying about watching her do her hair. To me she has the perfect head of hair and manages to make every style work for her.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
