Three weeks ago, my good friend Alex and I embarked on a journey that took us from Los Angeles to Phoenix to the Grand Canyon. Neither of us had been there before, so seeing the massive expanse of the canyon was highly anticipated. We stayed at Grand Canyon University the first night with a friend, then drove up to see Horseshoe Bend and the canyon itself.
Throughout the entire experience, we were taking copious amounts of pictures and videos, and we both hoped to create a video of some sort when we returned. Alex got right to work and churned out his video within a week, and it was spectacular! It made me want to go back to explore some more. My video, on the other hand, took longer than I would have liked. I had to create a voice over track and compile both my footage and Alex's. My editing program crashed once and gradually became slower throughout the process, plus I didn't start dedicated work on the project until a week or so after we got back.
The video that I created (which you will see below) has a different style than anything I have made before. It is reminiscent of a vlog or documentary, but also has several photo montages and candid video footage. My goal was simply to chronologically tell the story of our journey, being as complete as possible without creating a monster-sized video. I hope you will find it as compelling to watch as we did to travel to this beautiful natural wonder.
