I Still Have 2 More Years, And The Thought Of My Own Graduation Already Brings Me To Tears

Taking grad photos is all fun and games until you realize that two years from now you'll be the one in cap and gown.

Taking graduation photos is always a treat, but it also makes me sentimental at the thought of May 2020 when it will be my turn to graduate. From what I have learned from behind the camera lens, the weeks right before graduation are filled with thousands of emotions.

While editing these photos, I randomly stumbled upon a talented, budding artist Adeline Hill whose debut singles all have relatable lyrics no matter what phase of life you are in.

Below are my 10 favorite shots that capture all of the moods accompanying graduation interspersed with lyrics from Adeline.

1. "There's excitement in the air" when you first put on the cap and wonder what side the tassel goes on

2. The bittersweet feeling leaving that one building where you spent every semester is "when the moments turn to memories"

3. Pure joy knowing your 2 AM's do not have to be spent in the library anymore cramming for finals

4. Laughing when you aren't sure where the past four years have gone like... "How Can It Be Time Already to go?"

5. All the nostalgic feelings as your hair blows in the wind..."Time is moving faster than ever // we gotta try to capture, remember"

6. Standing confidently ready for the real world... "when the future gets so clear to see"

7. Posing with your class ring... "so I'll sit back and watch the sun paint us gold // for a moment we feel like we rule the world"

8. Walking out of your last class like..."it's a feeling I'll remember for the rest of my life"

9. The sentimental last time honoring the Memorial Bell Tower as a student... "Oh the days they take so long, but the years fly by so fast"

10. When "Time Stood Still" and you realize the next time you throw up a Wolfie you'll be alumni

All quotes are credited to the singles "How Can It Be Time Already," "Moments to Memories," "2 Am," and "Time Stood Still" by Adeline Hill.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
