GoTrax’s Newest Scooter Takes Speed and Range to the MAX

In 2023, it's difficult to find a device that will help us save money, time, and get to our destinations quickly, efficiently, and safely. The GMAX does just that, and more. With a great blend of speed and stability, it is the perfect option for riders looking to go the distance. Thanks to its 350W rear wheel motor, the Max reaches speeds of up to twenty miles per hour. It has an IPX4 waterproof rating for worry-free riding in the rain or through large puddles and has a transformer-like folding mechanism that turns the aluminum frame into a carrying handle, making the scooter easy to transport or fit in a small area for storage.

The dynamic design is both stylish and durable that will turn heads but also high quality and built to last with active use. The GMAX can go up to forty-five miles on a single charge, the highest I’ve seen in its class and price range. It allows its users to go to their daily destinations for days without worrys about charging.

The GMAX is ready to use right out of the box. It comes ninety-five percent assembled. All that is needed are four screws to attach the handlebars. From the moment the device is assembled it is clear that Gotrax has designed it for safety. The company designed two ingenious security measures to be sure the device doesn’t get stolen.

The first is a digitally-encrypted custom three-digit code made by the user that must get typed in correctly each time before the motor kicks in. If the code is incorrectly typed or tries to get bypassed, the scooter will beep, and the headlights will flash, similar to an emergency button on traditional car keys. The second is a conveniently built-in steel security cable that extends long enough to lock into any pole. Although it is very thin, it did make me feel secure leaving it attached for short trips.

Riding the GMAX was an exuberant experience. The scooter kicked into high gear in a matter of seconds, and I was riding the roads so fast I felt like a kid again filled with non-stop adrenaline. While I was disappointed that the device does not have suspension, the large ten-inch pneumatic tires made riding up steep slopes a breeze, and I felt stable passing through large potholes on my commute. The bright digital display made it easy to see my speed, battery life, and distance traveled. Hitting the brakes felt fluid and smooth each time I needed to stop. The LED headlight, reactive tail light, and front/side reflectors made me feel safe and seen riding the scooter at dusk and nighttime.

At less than $800, the GMAX is a spectacular set of wheels for riders wanting to go the extra mile and soar through any terrain in style. 9.8/10

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
