A Goodbye Letter To My Dance Instructor

I don't want one last time to mean one last time

I would sometimes wish that one more time actually meant one more time but every dancer knows one more time ends up being 3 to 5 more times. As Recital approaches I actually wish that one more time didn't mean one last time. I would do the routine 100 more times if it meant you would stay longer. Although I only danced for you a few years I learned so much and became a better dancer just within those few years. You weren't only my instructor, you were a role model and a friend, and you have helped shape me into the young woman I am today. Without you I wouldn't have even kept dancing. You made me love styles that I thought I hated before I came to you. Because of you, I am lucky enough to be able to continue my dance career in college. I hope you know that you're like a mom to me and my fellow class mates. It saddens me that I did not get to dance with you longer but I hope you never stop dancing no matter where you go. You worked so hard to get your classes where they are today receiving multiple high achieving awards. You believed in us and I cannot thank you enough for that. There is never going to be anyone that can replace you. You're legacy as an instructor at one of the most high class, good sportsmanship, fun, friendly, and last of all talented studios will never be erased. You're the best teacher I have ever had. I just want you to know that every time I perform now I'm going to dance like it's the last time I ever will. Thank you for giving me a second home and I wish you the best of luck wherever you go.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
