Everyone has heard the saying "just going through the motions" and everyone has had a point in there life when they just felt like they were going through the motions. These short periods and feelings of life going from task to task without any real purpose are okay. However, this is no way to live life. Lately, life has been exactly the opposite of how I wanted it to go.
Sometime's this happens and I've talked about it many times in my articles. Sometimes our hearts are badly broken and it is all we can do to go through the motions, and that is alright. Sometimes even going through the motions is something to be proud of. You had the strength to pull yourself out of bed in the morning and go on with your day taking care of your responsibilities. You pushed through.
Sometimes this is what we have to do, but there is no passion in this which is exactly why if we continue to push through life and never breaking out of this cycle we have become stuck in then we lose all sense of purpose. When we spend too long on autopilot people begin to notice. These are the people who are going to let you know that they are concerned, but we may have spent too much time walking the same path. We may have created a rut for ourselves in which we cannot see out of. When this happens we are going to end up missing the circumspect consultation of the people who care about you most. And I promise you, these people have been here from the beginning with open arms, trying to help. Run to them.
I know what it's like though. You can't just "be happy" and no one has the right to tell you to. I get it, it is not that easy and this is not what I am asking you to do. I am asking you to try. Try to look at this differently. I am not asking you to accept the circumstances you are in, I am not asking you to give up your hope of change or betterment of your situation because I promise that will come. I am certainly not asking you to be okay because you aren't.
All that you need to know is that when you remove yourself from this particular thing that is stealing all of you joy for any length of time you will begin to see the things that you do have to be thankful for. You will begin to see that there are blessings all around you and your heart will hurt just a little less.
This does not fix everything, and it does not mean that everything is better all of a sudden. It only means that life becomes a little more bearable and you can start enjoying it again while still dealing with your pain.
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33
