This is a letter for all college kids. Thanksgiving is 4 weeks away and we will all be returning to our parents. It is about the time to start thinking about playing it safe when it comes to COVID. Our parents and family do not deserve to face the effects of our need to socialize.
I've lined up a few simple things you can do to make your travel home safer.
- Wear a mask!! It's the simplest thing you can do to stay safe.
- Start slowing down seeing a lot of people. Stop going to big parties, and try hanging out with people who have been tested recently as negative.
- Get tested before you go home. This is so important. It's so avoidable to go home unknowingly positive and infecting your family.
- If you are going to see your grandparents all of this is even more important. I lost a grandparent from COVID. It is no joke. It's terrible and traumatizing.
