Missing home is inevitable, but going back to school isn't that bad thanks to these few things.
Bye bye summer job
We've all been there, that summer job or internship that you dread going to. It's summer, the sun is shining, the lake is calling, and you're stuck in an office. All you want to do is sleep in but you have to be at work by 8:00 a.m. and are bored out of your brains until 5 p.m. Not exactly your ideal summer. But it's finally over! You can finally go back to being a normal college student, pretending there won't ever be a day where you enter adulthood.
Your best friends!
You've been apart for almost FOUR MONTHS! Though Facetime and snapchat are awesome, they're just not the same as cozying up on the futon with your besties for a movie night. Reuniting with your best friends after being apart for so long is one of the best feelings ever.
Football and tailgates
If you go to a big school like me, fall means football. There's no better way to spend a Saturday than tailgating with your friends and family. Food, friends, family, and football, I mean come on! Nothing unites your school like decking yourselves out in your school colors and cheering on your sports teams. BOILER UP!
Class
I know, I know, no one looks forward to going back to class. I was dreading it. But on the first day of classes, I was actually really happy. I may sound like a nerd, but I actually got excited to learn again! I mean, that's the reason we even attend college, isn't it?
The food
Although leaving your mom's cooking sucks, it's so exiting coming back to your favorite grub at school! We can all admit we spend way to much money the first week on our favorite food places. Cheesy bread, coffee shops, sushi, need I say more?
The Rec Center
Find it hard to make it to the gym at home? Well, your incredible rec center is back and waiting for you! I couldn't wait to go back to Purdue's corec. I'm a huge fan of group workout classes, especially cycling. So you bet I was back at the corec for sunrise cycling the first day of classes!
Meeting new people
What's more exciting than making new friends? Even if you're not a freshman, you can still meet new people and make new friends! Go out, talk to people in your classes, join new clubs, try new things, it's all so exciting. Branch out of your comfort zone and make some new besties that you can't wait to return to again next school year!
