Finals are finally over (yay!) and we can finally enjoy our Christmas break. Studying in a foreign country is not easy, so I am very grateful I get to go back to Italy every Christmas and spend time with my family.
As I get older I have started to realize that Christmas is not about the presents, but it is about sharing joy and happiness with the people you love. After hanging out with my family for a while though, I start having college life withdrawals and I can’t wait to see all my Lubbock friends.
So here are the 17 stages of going home for Christmas Break:
1. You are so excited that you are finally done with school.
2. Driving/flying home is always nerve wrecking.
3.Hugging your family after 4 months is the best feeling ever.
4. Then you notice your sister is wearing your dress...
5. Your mom starts asking about your grades.
6. You dad asks about the plans you have for your future.
7. And you are like...
8. Eating home-cooked meals make you so happy.
9. You forgot you still need to buy some Christmas presents and you start panicking.
10. At Christmas lunch, you put on a fake smile to answer your relatives' annoying questions.
11. You eat too much food and you feel like your stomach is going to explode.
12. After Christmas, you start missing your college friends.
13. And your boyfriend...
14. And his dog...
15. The abstinence from Chimy's is driving you crazy.
16. Finally, you pack your bag and get to go back to your college life.
17. Then you start missing your family and you can't wait to go home again.
