"Glowing up" is all about how you feel mentally. These 8 steps help me build up my confidence in just a day.

How to 'Glow Up' in a Day

"Eat good, look good, feel good." -Unknown. Looking good is all about how good you feel. In order to feel and look my best, I allow each of these 8 things to guide me.

1. Eat a Nutritious Breakfast

"Breakfast is the most important meal of day!" ... I'm sure you've heard this one before, but it is true. Eat something that is both delicious and nutritious. This could be oatmeal and your favorite fruit! You need to also drink plenty of water. Not only will this deliver oxygen throughout your body, but it will also boost your skin health. It is important to drink water all throughout the day.

2. Work Out

Complete a workout that is best for your mind and body. For some this could be a long walk and for others it could be a spin class. As you exercise, endorphins are released. These endorphins trigger a positive feeling in your body, which leave you feeling way better than you did before your work out.

3. Take Your Time in the Shower

Don't rush yourself. Give yourself time to relax and clear your mind. If shaving is something you do, then shave! Nothing makes me feel more confident than soft, silky legs.

4. Get a Haircut

Haircuts are the perfect time for change (be adventurous). Wether you just want a blow out or a whole new style, walk out of the salon feeling bold and sassy. Plus, it is always fun to just be pampered.

5. Do a Face Mask

This does not mean you have to go out and spend $60 on a facial. At target there are many different face masks for just a couple of bucks. Select what kind of treatment you want, put it on, and allow it to leave you glowing and smiling.

6. Whiten Your Teeth

This step definitely is not as important, but it is great way for me personally to get myself feeling the best. You can buy whitening strips at any drug store or make a paste at home using baking soda. For some of you, this step could be a pore strip or painting your nails. Do whatever makes you feel beautiful!

7. Listen to Your Favorite MusicĀ

Music is proven to increase happiness AND you can listen to it while you are doing each of these things. For me, music is a must have while working out and getting ready. Turn on that LIZZO and get to dancing.

8. Dress Up and Go Out

Give yourself time to get ready. Put on an outfit that makes you feel confident, express yourself through your makeup (glitter is always an option), and be unapologetically you. Go out and doing something fun wether you're riding solo, with a date, or simply with your best friends!

Feeling confident on the outside is all about how you feel on the inside. Self care is important for being your best self. Don't feel selfish for spending extra time and care solely on you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast ā€œBirthdayā€ on anyoneā€™s birthday. I knew all of the words to ā€œBack In The U.S.S.Rā€ by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. Iā€™m not someone to ā€œfangirlā€ but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
