In my personal opinion, one of the best parts of Christmas the giving spirit. It feels so amazing to give and these kids just experienced that. A video was posted on YouTube by UPtv. The video has 927,000 views as I write this article and has gone viral on Facebook.
The video (shown below) shows a handful of kids at a Boys & Girls Club. The kids are asked what they want for Christmas and what their parents want for Christmas. The kids are then presented with the gift they wanted and the gift their parents wanted. The catch is, the kids are asked to chose between the two gifts. Every child asked chose the gift for their parents.
When asked why, one child said that Legos don't matter, family does. These kids are geniuses with pure minds and hearts. We have something to learn from them. We should look to these kids about the reason for the season. I mean, who wants gifts more than kids? These kids remind us that family is more important than anything else.
Think of everything that your family does for you, or has done for you. They deserve the world. You might find your parents annoying, but they gave you a home and food and most likely sacrificed something they wanted for you. Like a new necklace so you could get your Lego set.
The end of the video tells you how you can help and get in the giving spirit. The video says "83 percent of Metro Atlanta Boys & Girls Club kids come from low-income families, some of which aren't able to afford even a Christmas tree." This is happening in your back yard.
UPtv is asking you to #GiveUpAGift just like the children did. For more information on how to participate, visit http://www.UPtv.com/GiveItUp.
Take a lesson from the kids and help those in need have an amazing Christmas.
