Just like the book "When you give a mouse a cookie" when you give a kid an animal they will learn so many different life lessons that otherwise wouldn't be taught till a much older age. Growing up showing cows and pigs has taught me plenty but I've stepped back and realized that all my animals(cattle, pigs, goat, dogs) have taught me something.
When you give a kid an animal....
They will learn respect
it will be their best friend
They will learn hard work
It will give them feelings
They will treat the animal with kindness
It will teach them communication skills
They will have responsibilities other than house chores
Through all the life lessons these animals have taught me, the one i will forever like the most is that anyone can be your best friend. Weather is a dog, cat, hamster, or fish any animal has the power to make you feel better and they are better than a person because they don't tell you how they feel.
