I have been trying to read books again. Middle school and high school killed my love of reading, and it's been hard to read books again. Unfortunately, I haven't found any stories that really spark my interest. I haven't found any stories with characters that I can relate to unless the book is realistic fiction, or just non-fiction.

Give me the horror story with the chubby trans boy who has psychosis.

Give me the novel about a kid with OCD fighting aliens in space.

Give me the story that represents those who are not represented.

Those are the stories I want to read. I want to read the stories about the trans boy who deals with supernatural creatures and fights his psychosis at the same time, and his struggle for acceptance from his parents isn't the main focus. I want to read the story about the girl with OCD who has to open and close the bay doors five times, even if the aliens are coming.

I want to read the story about the boy with DID who isn't the villain, and is the hero instead. I want to hear that story.

I want a story where the mentally ill are not demonized, but treated as human beings. I want a story where I can feel at home.
