There I was, 15 year-old me walking into the San Francisco LUSH store, drawn in by the beautiful smell that alerted everyone a block away from the store. Walking in, naturally, I began sneezing because the intense smell was overpowering -- and from that moment on I was hooked. But looking at the prices and being too young to have a job, it was a lost cause. For the following years I would stalk the website and make an effort to waltz into a LUSH store whenever I was in the closest locations (each being at minimum 30 minutes away).
I stayed dedicated to LUSH, never doubted them, and always supported them. Then one day while being home from college, I said to myself: why am I doing this? I can afford LUSH! And so I did. There it went, $60 of my hard-earned birthday money went to these lovely products, and despite the hint of buyer remorse I never felt so free. And you should try them too. Why? Let me tell you why, with three products.
3. Lip scrub.
Living in Reno, I have learned how quickly the dry cold air can affect lips and make them capped. Thankfully, I requested one of LUSH's lip scrubs for Christmas and it was a life saver during the following winter months. The lip scrubs come in bubblegum, popcorn, and mint julep (which tastes like chocolate chip mint). During the holidays, one can possibly find Santa's Lip Scrub (cola flavored) as well as The Kiss (sprinkles included). Since the scrub is sugar based, once one scrubs their lips they can lick off the extra. This scrub does wonders and is a must before putting on lipstick or even just a regular exfoliant for dry lips. These are honestly a life saver in Reno, or any dry and cold climate.
2. Bubble bars.
These sweet smelling bubble bars are meant for two things -- to make your bath incredibly bubbly and to make you super happy. Not only do these bubble bars go well alone, they can also be paired with a bath bomb (see below) to create an extra amazing bath to enjoy. A plus side to these is that you can cut the product up, making it last longer and having a control on how many bubbles you want per bath. A little definitely does go a long way. One of the best parts about these products is their colors! From pink, orange, yellow, purple, white, you name it- they have it. These come in so many different options for colors and scents, you are sure to find one that is to your liking!
1. Bath bombs.
I can't even explain how amazing these bath bombs are, or how many options these come in. After a long day of work or even just lounging around the house doing nothing all day, it is so amazing to turn on the warm water and drop one of these babies into the water. And the best part about the bombs is watching them dissolve into the water and turn the water several different colors (sometimes with added glitter). Once you are done watching the show, you can actually feel the essential oils and extracts that are infused into the bomb start to make your skin noticeably softer. The bath bomb experience also doesn't stop at just the bath, if taken in the morning the smell will last all day, which is totally an added bonus!
These are just three of the top reasons to try LUSH, and trust me there are more reasons. LUSH is equipped with shampoo bars, facial cleansers, lotions, and much, much more. An added bonus? Lush doesn't support animal testing and is active in the fight to stop it. They are a very involved company, constantly trying to help the greater good.
