Ironically, every time I start to feel down on myself I find that a message from God is soon to follow. And that message has the power to change my mood, which could in turn change my life, should I so choose to accept it.
I read something posted by a friend earlier that said,
If you look for worth in yourself you will never be satisfied, but if you look for worth in God, and his worth within you, you will finally find peace in your life.
Every time I'm feeling empty, I find that I start to ask myself what kind of woman God expects me to be. How he expects me to handle less than desired situations, like the ones where I don't quite succeed at following his full-filled life guidelines for us. Sometimes I hear his voice telling me to stick with it, and to forgive anyway.
That voice is hardest to hear when he is suggesting I use those powers to forgive myself.
I've always known there was worth to find in God, and worth to find in me, I guess I just got the order of doing it confused. For instance, if I find worth in me before the worth in God, I will be left empty and disappointed hundreds of more times before I can finally accept God's worth within me.
And if I put the worth of God before my worth, then I am suddenly not on this journey alone.
It may seem small to have just one more person walk with you, but they are there for reasons that can help make the biggest impacts possible. When the strength behind the positive and uplifting voice inside our head fails, we will be left with thoughts that tear us down and leave the stars impossible to reach. But if we have just one more voice of nothing but pure good there to walk with us, we have a chance at reaching those stars. We have a shot at achieving our wildest dreams. And we have more love and understanding of self-worth than we ever could alone.
Sometimes I feel worthless, but then I look up. I look down. I look to my left, and to my right. I look all around me, and I see one thing that reminds me what it means to forgive my mistakes and my burdens, and that's light.
Despite all of the dark things that attempt to ruin the innocence of our dreams to impact the world for the better, and bring about change that can brighten this world up a bit, there is a light surrounding those who find God's worth in every new mission the holy spirit sends them on, and that light gets greater overtime, outshining more and more of the darkness.
If you feel worthless, ask yourself
Are you walking alone?
Do you know the worth of God?
And if you answer yes or even no to either of those questions, then you should spend every single day searching for the worth of God.
Whether his worth comes to you in watching the joyous couple walk down the street, or the store owner doing her best to make ends meet,
God's worth exists everywhere.
And because of that, you could never be worthless.
