I have loved "Gilmore Girls" ever since I began watching it-which was a pretty long time ago. "Gilmore Girls" became my thing. At 11 a.m. you would find me on my couch watching it and I wouldn't move until it was over. On the "Gilmore Girls" marathon days the only thing I would say is, "Yeah sorry, I'm busy". I didn't want to miss a thing. Lorelei and Rory became real people to me. When asked what my favorite tv show was it wasn't something I had to think about.
Now, all these years later,
Netflix has offiicially released the news that Gilmore Girls is coming back with 4 and a half hour long episodes. And Im a little on edge about it. I just hope that these 4 new episodes don't disappoint me and everyone else. Let's be honest we've had about 6 years to get over the fact that Rory didn't marry Logan(THATS MY NAME), Dean, or Jess. We've had 6 years to get past the disappointing final episodes (mostly disappointing because no one wanted it to end). We've had six years to accept that it is what it is. Now here we are in 2016 and they're making 4 more. They're going to make us go through the dreadful end all over again. And yes, of course I am glad there's more, but seriously? 6 years later? I wanted more years ago. I even wrote a very angry letter to the producers explaining how much more there was for this show. (I was a very angry and emotional 12-year-old after this.). But really. Not only are we not starting where we left off, the show is going to be 8 years forward from Rory's graduation (where we ended). That's a lot of time. I mean Im sure we all have our suspicions about what the hell could've happened in these 8 years.
I'm excited about this, I really am. I just don't understand why all of our favorite off-the-air series are all deciding to come back with more after all this time. I mean Full House, and now Gilmore Girls. What's next, One Tree Hill, Greek, Friday Night Lights? I'm just a little concerned. I'd rather not get my hopes up and be let down. I just hope it doesn't feel as different as I think it will. Sure it's Gilmore Girls, but will it be the girls, the show, the cast we all know and love. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Ill be reporting back to you about this after the shows come out on Netflix and we hear those "Final Four Words"
Until then,
