I'm starting off on a sad note. It seems like every day I see some kind of article pertaining to animal abuse. These abuse cases mainly include dogs or puppies getting hurt or even killed for NO REASON.
Goddamn it, it hurts and breaks my whole heart. I'm so tired of seeing it.
All dogs want is love. They want companionship and relationships with their owners and families. They don't ask for violence or pain.
Getting a dog can literally light up your life. No questions asked. It's easy.
All my life, I did not have a dog. Finally, we gave in and picked out our baby girl, Maya. She is a mini Goldendoodle. At first, it was a challenge. She peed everywhere and bit us in playfulness, but eventually, she grew out of the biting and went to the bathroom outside.
There was one time where I took her outside and I said that it was getting hard to deal with her. She was a crazy nut, but we knew that when we picked her out.
Regardless, ever since day one, she has been my light. She is always there when I walk in the door. She wiggles her tail in excitement and follows me until she's tired. She loves to lay on my bed and steal our seats when we move from the couch.
After all of this, I lay down with her at the end of the day and smile. She is now 10 months old. She grew out of her nipping and she adores cuddling now when, before, she despised it.
Then, I think to myself, "How could a person hurt a precious animal like this?" Literally, she has changed my life for the better. She is my pillow and my shoulder to cry on when I'm sad. She is my cuddle bug and my happiness. She has made our family happier and crazier than usual.
Everyone should consider getting a pup, but not everyone actually deserves one. They deserve so much love, and all they want is a home. A dog should have an owner, but not everyone is capable of being an owner.
I love my puppy to the moon and back, and like my family, I'd give it all for her. She has changed our lives for the better and I'm grateful for that.
