I have been feeling a bit of an uninspired/dull patch coming on. The novelty of being back at school, new classes, seeing friends again, etc. has officially worn off and motivations have been running low. This is what I'm doing to combat your discouragement.
Start with writing out your tasks/assignments
GiphyWe have all been there, where the world seems to be overwhelming at every turn and you just want to be able to pause life, lay down, and nap. There might be some things you can push off until after a nap, but the best way to reign control back in is to take a second and write out all of the things you need to do.
Organize those goals
Important Billy Eichner GIF by NRDC - Find & Share on GIPHYGiphyNow that you have them written out, order them in a way that works best for you with the most important/most time consuming first and so on and so forth. I like to write all the due dates for mine in parentheses after each assignment/task.
Get started
Ty Pennington Start Your Engines GIF by NASCAR - Find & Share on GIPHYGiphyI'm one of those people that tends to procrastinate wayyy too much and I always regret it, but end up going into my old ways at some point. A goal for myself this semester is to not let that happen so much. I like to have my goal and a reward in mind while I'm doing it. For example, if I get all my English work tonight I can watch a couple of episodes of what TV show I'm watching. Some people might find it easier to use hanging out with friends or maybe a Dairy Bar trip as a reward ;)
Hold yourself to your word
Serious Reese Witherspoon GIF - Find & Share on GIPHYGiphyIt's really easy to slip back into to old ways, but if you truly want to make this semester your b****, then keep yourself in check. I find it a lot easier to follow through on a goal when I post about it on social media or telling someone I talk to daily that will keep me on track.
And as Lorelai Gilmore once said, "You will kick your own butt if you blow this."
