Recently, I saw Garth Brooks live for the third time. This may sound a little excessive because how many times do you really need to see the same person in concert. Also, keep in mind that some people will see the same person or band more than 20 times. I will admit that it was the same tour over two years. But to my credit, it was three different cities with three different stage setups.
My first Garth show was definitely an experience. I had not been to many concerts and did not know what to expect. My family had driven about six hours to go to this show. We did not have floor seats, but were towards the front part of the side of the stage. It was a good show and I had fun.
The second time I saw Garth Brooks was this spring. It was my mom, one of my brothers, and me. There was a bit less of a drive this time. We again had seats on the side of the stage. They were not as good as the seats at the first concert due to the different stage set up.
The most recent time that I saw Garth Brooks live was last week. He had yet another stage set up. This time, my mother and I had floor seats. It was an amazing show. The crowd sang every song and clapped at the end of each one.
Garth brought his wife with him on tour and had her at each show. Trisha sang some of her songs during the shows. Garth also had the same opening act at each of the shows. The opening act, Karyn Rochelle, sang mostly the same songs each time. At the most recent, Garth had a second opening act whom I had never heard of previously, Brett Kissel. I thought he made a good addition to the lineup.
For me, the shows were not just about seeing the performer live. It was also about getting some quality bonding time with my family. I see my family often, but that does not mean I always spend a lot of time with them. These concerts were a good opportunity to do that. They mostly gave me bonding time with my mom because she went to all three shows with me.
But do not think my mom only lets me go to Garth Brooks concerts, that would be strange. She has taken me to Taylor Swift, George Strait, and Clint Black as well. All three of them were also pretty great and had completely different stage setups. We have a little bit of a country theme going because when it comes to music, country is about the only genre we agree upon. Unless hits from the 70s or 80s are in the mix of course.
These concerts have provided memories I can not and would not forget. I cannot thank my mom enough for being so great and setting aside some time to take me places.
