Benefits of the Gallon Challenge

You body is mainly water, so it makes sense that it requires continued hydration. However, most doctors only 'require' you to drink eight cups per day (64 ounces) or half your body weight in ounces! Drinking more than the required amount can give you so many extra benefits that you don't realize you need until you get! After only a week of the challenge, it is almost guaranteed that you will look and feel noticeably different and healthier! So why not try?

1. You will have more energy!

Most people are under the assumption that the only drinks that can provide energy are the ones that contain caffeine. However, water hydrates your body and mind, allowing them to be refreshed and energized all throughout the day without any caffeine or sugary drinks.

2. You will feel full faster!

Giphy

Drinking water is one of the easiest dieting tricks! By drinking a gallon a day, your body will be under the illusion that it is full longer and faster, so that you end up not eating as much and less frequently!

3. Your skin will start to clear up!

Now, drinking a gallon of water a day won't magically erase all of your pimples, but it definitely helps! Along with a proper skin care routine and no extra sugary drinks or foods, your skin should be in pretty good shape!

4. Workouts will be at least a little easier to get through!

Giphy

Keeping your body hydrated is so important when exercising. If your body is well hydrated, you are less likely to get fatigued as quickly and not as likely to experience cramping.

5. Avoid unnecessary calories!

Another beneficial diet tip is to not drink your calories! Drinking a gallon of water a day allows you to keep your calories for more yummy food.

Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

You cannot beat the beach. Believe it or not (which many people may not), New England has a long and beautiful coastline. Most of my high school summers were spent sitting on the Wall at Hampton Beach, getting sunburnt and eating Acai bowls from The Secret Spot. The Wall was the place to be both during the day and at night. We begin our days there with a KB's bagel and coffee, and end them with pizza and ice cream. It’s not a New England summer without that 4 p.m. text from someone, “Who wants to meet at the Wall tonight?” Nighttime is for Tripoli’s Pizza, the sound of waves, and wishes on shooting stars. Wednesday nights are especially important, as those are the nights that Hampton Beach sets off the weekly firework display.
