It's spring time in Tallahassee and you know what that means, it's the only time of the year where being outside is tolerable because you aren't roasting alive and it isn't pouring rain every day. Since football season is over you've got plenty of free time on the weekends. If you're not one for road trips, or you just enjoy hanging out in Tallahassee with your friends but don't know what to do, look no further. I have come up with a list of some of my favorite activities to do during spring in Tally.

1. Hike Providence Canyon.

Grab your friends, your Polaroid camera, some snacks and go spend the day hiking through Providence Canyon in Georgia. It’s only a few hours away from Tallahassee and is a super fun and unique way to spend a day with your friends. Not to mention… you can’t beat those views.

2. Play giant Jenga/cards at Township.

Grab a liter of beer, a hot dog, and play some giant Jenga or ride the bus with giant cards. Playing games is more fun with beer and beer is more fun with games. It's the circle of life friends.

3. Beach day.

Hop in the car with a cooler, your friends, and some good music and drive to Alligator Point or St. George Island for a perfect beach day.

4. Go to Proof.

Proof is the perfect environment to just hang out and enjoy your friends. There's live music, turf, pretty lights, and beer. That's the perfect combo if you ask me.

5. Baseball game.

Go cheer on the Noles and enjoy a hot dog at a baseball game. Take advantage of this incredible weather while you can and spend some time rooting for your favorite guys.

6. Visit Maclay Gardens.

If you've never been to Maclay Gardens, you definitely need to add it to your list. It's beautiful, serene, and a great way to spend a relaxing day outside.

7. Açaí Bowls at The Good Berry.

If you haven't jumped on the açaí bandwagon by now... all aboard. Head on over to The Good Berry in Midtown or Collegetown and grab a bowl of açaí. It's delicious and healthy so there's really no excuse to not, just saying.

8. Rent a Pace Bike and ride around Tallahassee.

Rent a bike and spend the day biking through downtown or Railroad Square with your friends.

9. Spend a day at Cascades.

Grab a coffee at Catalina or enjoy a nice meal at The Edison and walk around Cascades Park for a little.

10. Complete the Madison Social monthly drinking challenge.

The March challenge is mules. I repeat: THE MARCH CHALLENGE IS MULES.

11. Pool day.

Spend the day catching some rays with your friends.

12. Bottomless mimosas at Centrale.

Do this one with caution... brunch can get dangerous real quick when the word bottomless is involved.

13. Daiquiris and crawfish at Coosh's.

Swing by Coosh's in Collegetown and enjoy some New Orleans style crawfish and a daiquiri.

14. Recess Pool Party.

No one throws a Darty like Recess. Go to one before you graduate. You won't regret it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
