Fuller House Lives Up To The Hype

The Tanner-Fuller-Gibbler-Katsopolis Clan is back in action. The reboot of my favorite 90s show is back in full force on "Fuller House," showing on Netflix, and I couldn't be more ecstatic. I watched the entirety of Season One in 12 hours even with classes and work interrupting my binge-watching session. I was so happy to see the whole cast reunited. When it was announced that a reboot was going to be filmed, I started keeping a countdown. Overall I was extremely pleased with everyone.

First thing is that everyone looked as if they had barely aged, with the exception of DJ, Stephanie, Kimmy, and the Katsopolis Twins. All the characters were perfect; I mean... Uncle Jesse, have mercy! Even DJ and Kimmy's new additions to the clan fit in nicely. It's like 20 years hadn't even passed. It's even more perfect that all of the family members call out Michelle (aka Mary-Kate and Ashley) for not coming back for the show. At least three times in this first season they call out the Olsen twins directly for not acting. But do not worry, Michelle is still mentioned in the plot. The sisters call her and leave her voicemails throughout the show. My fingers are crossed that maybe at least one of the Olsen twins will change their mind and want to return to the show.

Also, can we talk about the flashbacks they perfectly fit in the show? The characters even reminisce on things that previously happened in "Full House." Classic uncle (and now aunt) moments and family time are still a very important theme in this spin-off. "Full House" taught some good life lessons, and "Fuller House" continues the tradition. The new plot with DJ and her kids is very well written, and lives up to my standards. I love how they kept he same basic plot premise as the original show. That, I think, is what helps make the show so good.

Then there's DJ's love life: Matt versus Steve. They are both single and still have a connection. I'm just dying for them to get married. I've wanted them to get married ever since they kissed at prom. And then there's her coworker, Matt. I'm not really "Team Matt" here. Sure he's hot, but he doesn't have the past or connection with DJ that Steve has. But season one left me hanging with her love life so, for now I'm just hoping that she eventually chooses Steve. Also, Danny Tanner has a wife. I have no details on that. I was disappointed on the follow-up with that.

I grew up with "Full House." I remember watching marathons of it every Saturday morning. But "Fuller House" has grown up with us. I am referring to the humor of this reboot. There are adult jokes and so many sexual innuendos. I was surprised. I remembered this show as being a family-friendly comedy. But I'm sure the producers knew what their target ages were and they were right on the mark with the humor. I found myself laughing a lot while binge watching.

Even if you never were a fan of "Full House," you should watch "Fuller House." Sure, you might not understand some of the references, or jokes, or flashbacks... what the heck, you need to watch "Full House" before you watch "Fuller House." You need to be able to appreciate this show for all it's worth. I give this reboot a five-star rating. It is totally worth wasting a Saturday to binge-watch. I feel sorry for the people who don't have Netflix and can't watch this show.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
