It's finally here, the spin-off series of Full House, titled Fuller House, will make its official debuted on Netflix 2016! The series was announced earlier in April by John Stamos himself on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and will consist of 13 episodes. Stamos will serve as a producer for the show and guest star as well.
Only Candance Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, and John Stamos have been confirmed to return in Fuller House. The first three will return as part of the main cast while Stamos will return as a guest star. Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, and Lori Loughlin are still in talks about signing on to the project. There is also a lot of speculation whether the Olsen twins will return to reprise their role as the beloved Michelle Tanner. It appears as if their participation in Fuller House is left in the hands of their TV dad Bob Saget.
When asked who should play Michelle Tanner, Lori Loughlin stated that the role should go to the Olsen Twin's younger sister, Elizabeth Olsen, and all I can say is how rude! Fuller House, would not be playing complete homage to its original show, if there is no Michelle Tanner around, and who better to play it then Michelle Tanner herself. To properly satisfy all of their fans, they have to at least address what happened to all the characters which we fell in love with.
Fuller House follows the story of veterinarian DJ Tanner-Fuller who was recently widowed. She is left with the job of raising two boys and expecting a third while having to deal with her husband's untimely demise. Her sister Stephanie Tanner and best friend Kimmy Gibbler alongside her teenage daughter Ramona, move in to help DJ with her boys, 12-year-old JD and 7-year-old Max as well as helping her prepare for the new baby.
If this story line seems familiar, worry not. This series seems to be a role reversal of its parent series, Full House in which Danny Tanner was widowed and left to raise his three daughters DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle. His best friend Joey and brother-in-law Jesse temporarily moves in to help Danny with the girls, yet their stay becomes permanent, as both decide that their family needs them. Throughout Full House, we got to see these men create a life for themselves while watching their girls grow into women.
I for one am extremely excited about this show. I grew up watching Full House and have always loved it; it was a show about family and growing up. It is one of those shows that will always live on with you, and one I was very happy to share with my little sister.
I can't wait to see how each Tanner went on to live their lives. What happened to Steve? I always shipped DJ and Steve and wondered what happened to them after the show ended. Where are Nicky and Alex? Is Michelle still an awesome little dude? Is Stephanie still sassy? Is Uncle Jesse still as obsessed with his hair? Now the wait begins, and all I can say is...
