I have gone through almost 20 years of life and the only two people that have gone through each and every single one of those years with me (other than my parents) are my best friends in the entire world –– my siblings. Now I know the internet is riddled with many of these types of articles discussing the many ups and downs of having siblings, but at the end of the day, you will always love them no matter what. This is great however, being the only boy with two older sisters, I always read these articles and can't help but think to myself that something is always off. So, the following is just a short summary of why I love my siblings and every day I grow more and more thankful that they are apart of my life.
In case you didn't quite catch it the first time, I am the youngest boy sibling and my older siblings are both girls. Obviously this led to many antics and life lessons. They taught me useful dating tips, how to treat a lady, and what a girl is really looking for. Having them in my life has taught me patience and how to work better with others, no matter how many times I disagreed with them. Every time I am with them, even the most boring events are a little more fun. We can be goofy together, we can be serious together, we can be mean, we can be loud, and we can be a handful for our parents and each other together, and I wouldn't trade a single second of that.
I can be a lot at times, and so can they, but we have learned how to deal with each other so that even when our worst comes out, we still love each other and we can all still have a good time with one another. I will always be there for them and they have proved to me time and time again that they will always be there for me as well. I know I can tell my siblings anything and they will always be there to lend me their ear. Sure, they may still rat me out every once and a while (and I will rat them out sometimes too) but it's all OK, I'll forgive them. I'll just have to get them back at it a little later.
We've all reached the age were we start to go our separate ways and we don't always see each other, but the highlight of each time I go home for a break is seeing them. We are all leading our own lives and starting to take on the world, however I have just a few reminders for them: no guy will ever be good enough for you in my eyes, I will always help you in any way that I can, I'm sorry I don't talk to you as much as I'd like, and last but not least, I love you.
