A freshman's guide to​ Phoenix's 'First Friday'

If you aren't familiar with First Friday, it's a cultural art walk event hat goes on the first Friday of each month, as the name suggests. It takes place from 6 pm to 10 pm on the streets of the fantastic, Downtown Phoenix. This event is one of the biggest events in the country and is remarkable at displaying local art to the community.


If this is your first time attending this event you can go straight to the Phoenix art museum, there you can meet an ArtLink volunteer that can help guide you and answer questions. Tip: Ask for a map that will help you navigate through the event

If you admire and love promoting local art, this event is for you!

It is suggested to wear something comfortable and bring a water bottle because it will get hot.

-Uber/Lyft: Download the app, look for discount codes and ride over with your friends!

-Light rail: for the small fee of $4 dollars, you can purchase a day pass and ride the public light rail from Tempe to Downtown and back

-Campus Shuttle: The intercampus shuttle bus will take you from campus to campus with cold a/c and fast wifi for free! It runs every 15 minutes up til 10:30 PM. So hop onto the 'maroon' bus and ride comfortably

-Drive there: There are multiple parking garages that charge as little as $1/Hour

-Park-and-Ride hubs: Complimentary trolleys that run from 6 PM to 10 PM.
