Looking Forward To Thursday's Christmas Movie Marathon
Freeform

The first day of December is this Thursday. What better way to kick off your countdown to Christmas than by watching an array of Christmas movies 25 days in a row? The movie that has the honor of being Freeform's first movie of the 25-day long marathon of Christmas spectaculars this year is:

"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"

This isn't exactly a movie you'd typically add to your list of favorite Christmas movies, but I'm sure it's somewhere on your list of favorite childhood movies. Nonetheless, you will be immersed in a "world of pure imagination" with Mr. Wonka in his chocolate factory with Charlie and many other interesting characters starting at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Next up after "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" is the stop motion animation Christmas movie, "The Year Without a Santa Claus."

Feeling forgotten by the children of the world, Santa decides to skip delivering presents and take a vacation. Eager to help, Mrs. Claus and two elves set out to see where all the season's cheer has disappeared to. Aided by a magical snowfall, they reawaken the spirit of Christmas in children's hearts and put Santa back in action. Check it out at 6:00 p.m.

My all-time favorite Christmas movie "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" is making its first appearance of the year on day one of 25 Days of Christmas.

Although much of the humor and profanity is edited out on Freeform, the Griswold family will give you more than enough laughs to make you and your family feel like the normal ones this season! Watch it starting at 7:05 on Thursday.

What is Christmas without Tim Allen in the classic movie, "The Santa Clause?"

Scott Calvin is a divorced dad who has custody of his son, Charlie, on Christmas Eve. They are magically transported to the North Pole, where an elf explains that Scott must take Santa's place before the next Christmas arrives. Scott thinks he's dreaming, but over the next several months he begins to realize it's anything but a dream. See it at 9:15 p.m.

Tim Burton's masterpiece, "The Nightmare Before Christmas," begins at 11:20 p.m. after The Santa Clause.

This stop-motion animated classic is a dark fantasy musical. It tells the story of Jack Skellington, a resident of Halloween Town who stumbles through a portal that takes him to Christmas Town and decides to celebrate the holiday, with some interesting and fun consequences. It features the well-known song, "This is Halloween" that you'll be sure to be singing along to by the end of the movie.

If you are one to stay up late, catch "Rudolph's Shiny New Year" at 1 a.m.!

A year after delivering Christmas presents, Santa Claus receives a letter from his friend Father Time asking for help to find Happy, the Baby New Year, before midnight on New Year's Eve, or else it will be December 31 forever. Santa sends Rudolph out to find him. If you are a night owl, be sure to check out this stop-animation classic filmed in 1976.

Freeform movie line-up was received from Entertainment Weekly!

Check back next week for my must-see movie recommendations on Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas. I promise I'll tell you the best ones to see, and the ones to skip over!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
