Just about everyone I know is in love with one TV show or another that doesn't get enough love. For me, that is the CW's "The 100." I have faithfully watched since the shows beginning and I can honestly say it is one of my favorite shows and I am going to try to convince you why you should watch it too.

1. One Hell Of A Plot

"The 100" is about a group of 100 adolescent prisoners being sent back to earth to see if it was habitable after living on a space station called "the Ark" for 100 years, having escaped from the nuclear fallout that raged on earth. When these teens get to earth they struggle with a means to find food, shelter, and answer the question of if they are alone.

2. Awesome Writing

The writing of the first season hooked me. The show has its share of corny lines, especially early on, but as you keep watching the dialogue gets better and within that dialogue these big picture moral questions like population control come up, so much so there is a philosophy class based on the show at Carnegie Mellon University. The writing of the first season has this gritty survival aspect that the early seasons of “The Walking Dead” had. Personally, I thought season three lacked this tone but season four revived my hopes and has kept me hooked.

3. Realistic Characters

I think the aspect of the show I love the most is the characters themselves. While set in the future and in a post-apocalyptic society the characters are authentic. They have family and friend drama, relationship issues, and are transitioning into adulthood. Of course, this all happens under the context of warring amongst themselves in a very "Lord Of The Flies" fashion, having to survive on practically destroyed earth, and other surprises I won’t spoil. Seeing these real feeling characters make such large survival choices is both exhilarating and helps the viewer put themselves in their place.

4. The Subtle Location Hints

One of the aspects I love about the show is that while it takes place in the United States, there isn't much left that would identify precisely where they are. Fans often create maps of where they believe the characters are and theories about how much distance has been covered over the seasons. One location in the show is "Tondc" which was at one point Washington D.C. At certain points, viewers see iconic U.S. monuments, but other times we are left guessing.

“The 100” is thankfully on Netflix so after this finals week from hell is over I can go back and watch the show from the beginning. One of my favorite things during the week is watch with my friend and screaming over our favorite characters. So do yourself a favor and check out this show with all of its perfectly imperfect characters, moral ambiguities, and their struggle to survive.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
