Netflix has recently started removing some of their most popular shows like "How I Met Your Mother," "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia," "Scrubs" and seasons 9-14 from "Family Guy."
I was an avid watcher of "How I Met Your Mother" and now that it's gone I feel lost and have no urge to watch any of the lame shows that are left on their streaming site. So, I decided to look into other streaming sites, and see what they have to offer.
1. Hulu.com
So I did some digging and they also stream "How I Met Your Mother." They also release current episodes from television shows like "Once Upon A Time" and "Shameless." Their movie selection seems a bit slim. It seems their strongest asset is their television shows. One con I noticed about Hulu is that they have commercials and if you don't want them, you have to pay more for it.
2. Amazon Prime
Amazon has prime video, and if you're already a member, you have access to hundreds of prime movies. It's pretty much the opposite of Hulu. Its strength is with movies, but its weakness is the lack of streaming T.V shows. Amazon is also annoying to navigate when trying to find a simple show to watch.
3. Showtime
With Showtime you can stream it from anywhere depending on your preference. You can watch it on their site or other places like Amazon, Apple, DirectTV NOW, Hulu, Xbox One, or even Youtube TV. Seems great, they claim it's commercial free which is a plus. You also can try their free month trial and test it out to see if you enjoy their services. So, if you're not sure about which site to pick, just test them all out for free!
4. HBO
HBO has an amazing movie selection from "Split" starring James McCoy, to "Get Out." HBO always goes big with their blockbuster streaming. They also have hit shows like "Games of Thrones," "Westworld," and the " Sopranos." It may be on the pricey end of the spectrum, but it doesn't hurt to consider it as a contender.
Sorry Netflix, I loved ya, but you took my favorite shows away from me and now I must move on to bigger and better streaming sites.
