Many of us happen to have a favorite TV show that captivates our attention, and if you're lucky, you're able to binge watch that show online. Recently, I have made the decision to rewatch a show that I previously watched on Netflix and I was surprised by the fact that the show I watched portrayed a lot of foreshadowing. While rewatching the TV show, "Grey's Anatomy" for the second time, I noticed that Shonda Rhimes (the creator) inserted subtle clues of events that might occur.

The first time I watched the show, I was surprised at how Rhimes wrote off some of the characters. I absolutely thought that some write-offs were absurd, but now that I know what happens to the characters of Grey Solan Memorial Hospital previously known as Seattle Grace Hospital. I tried to see if there were any clues before their sudden departure.

One of the very first departures that took me by surprise was of Isobel (Izzie) Stevens, played by Katherine Heigl. Dr. Izzie Stevens is known as one of the first five original characters of Grey's Anatomy who's on her path to becoming a surgeon. At the beginning of the series, Stevens is seen as a caring doctor with a bright personality; not much is revealed about her besides the fact that she modeled her way through medical school.

As the show progresses, it is revealed that Stevens gave birth to a girl whom she'd gave up for adoption when she was a young adult. She only did that because she wanted to give her daughter and herself a chance. When the audience learns of Stevens' secret, we learn that her daughter had developed a type of cancer that supposedly is genetic and that she is in need of a bone marrow transplant. In the show, Stevens willingly donates some bone marrow for her daughter but doesn't take into consideration that she has the cancer gene.

Even though this isn't brought up for a while, the mention of cancer amongst the main characters continues to be a central point until Stevens finds out that she also has cancer. Though Rhimes continues to mention cancer among the characters, it doesn't feel as repetitive as it did when Stevens was a part of the show.

Another event that has been foreshadowed happens to be the tragic plane crash. In one of the episodes, Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo, asks her friend Cristina Yang, played by Sandra Oh, to be the godmother in which Yang asks if both Meredith and Derek Shepherd happen to be in an accident such as a plane crash she would become the sole guardian any future child of Meredith. After many episodes, Yang, Grey, Shepherd and a few other doctors are involved in a plane crash which causes the death of two of their peers.

Though there are many other incidents that foreshadow both minor and major events to the characters of Grey's Anatomy, just try to keep an open mind to what the characters say or do because you'll never know how those words or actions may come back and haunt them.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
