In the past several months, immigration has been a huge issue. With many states being forced to take foreign immigrants as directed by the federal government, many people are upset over this issue. These immigrants are being housed, given public assistance, credit cards, health care, and United States identification without following the laws set down by our government that pertains to immigration and naturalization. They were also allowed to enter the country without any type of background check, investigation or any other means to determine if they really are who they claim to be.
I'm not saying that we should not help people in need. In fact, I have been accused of having too big of a heart and have been taken advantage of many times, but yet I still continue to help those in need. My problem with this situation comes from two very important and issues. The first issue is that while these people have been given a free ride in our country, we have many men and women who served our country in the Armed Forces who are homeless and eating out of trash cans, if they eat at all, and most go without any type of health care.
How can we, as a nation, support this? Whether you support our military is not the issue. The issue is taking obvious funds that are available and using them on someone other than American citizens. These men and women were either born here or became citizens in the legal manner and then chose to serve this country only to have that same nation turn its back on them when they hit rock bottom.
The second issue I have with this situation is the lack of practical security our government used when relocating these immigrants within the United States. The government of the United States wants to know everything that we do, but yet foreign people are allowed to enter the country, get free benefits that comes from our tax dollars, and with little to no background information required.
Let's be honest, we all have tried to apply for either a credit card, a loan, or maybe even public assistance. When applying for these things, the amount of information required was ridiculous. Again, I am not a hater and I want to help those in the world that need it. If I was a billionaire, I wouldn't be one for long because I would probably give most of my money away. I just want to see the American people taken care of first.
