Thank you.
There are just not enough words in the world to describe how much your stories have meant to me. Harry Potter was not just some franchise to me. It was being able to stay up until midnight with my friends while we impatiently waited for the newest book.
It was wearing homemade robes to the bookstore and movie theater so we felt the part. It was being brought to tears seeing the Wizarding World of Harry Potter opening weekend; physically being able to be immersed into the magical world. These books and movies were released over the span of half my life. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was read to me before I was even able to read that type of book. I remember sitting on the top bunk of my brother’s bed and falling asleep listening to the adventures of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Never have I ever been so excited for a movie or book in my life. It pains me because I know I will never have that same feeling of anticipation to watch the next part of the story unfold, not knowing what will come next. This series was part of my life for so long that I know I will never experience something like this again.
One of my first fictional crushes was Harry, and then switching to Ron, and then Harry, and then Ron again. And you would be lying to yourself if Draco did not pop up on your radar. Only of course after seeing Tom Felton play the infamous Draco Malfoy. The book and movies taught me what it meant to be true to yourself and face your fears. It taught me about true love, and when you love, heartbreak is unavoidable, and that is okay. It is okay to be sad or feel lost, but things will get better and you always have people who will be there for you.
“But you know, happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light”- J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
I will always be waiting for my Hogwarts letter to finally come in the mail. Even when I am 52 years old, I will assume that my owl is still trying to find me.
