1. You will snack A LOT.

I seriously eat so much throughout the day. My roommate and I will sit in our room late at night and watch movies, share our snacks, and drink hot chocolate.

2. There is SO MUCH homework

If you take a lot of credit hours, you will have a lot of homework. Taking six to ten classes in one semester can pile on the stress, especially if you're involved in other activities outside of school as well.

3. It can be fun to be on your own.

Being on your own at school can turn out to be a lot of fun. It's nice to have the personal responsibility to decide when you want to eat or when you want to go shopping. Warning: this includes many late-night trips to Wal-Mart when you realize there is no more food!

4. Your schedule is so much different that you're used to.

In high school, and even before then, all of your daily classes were on a strict schedule and you went to school for one certain block of time and then went home. In college, there might be a ten-minute break between two classes or a two hour one!

5. You will make some great friends!

College opens you up to a whole new variety of people. Most of them aren't coming to school with a massive group of friends already, so they're looking to meet new people just like you!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
